About You: We're looking for an experienced general commercial lawyer with 8+ years PQE who is ready for a new challenge and take on contract work. Ideally, you've trained with a well-regarded firm and have worked in-house. You have strong experience in general commercial work and you think like an in-house advisor. Importantly, you enjoy turning your hand to new things that come up. You are commercially-minded, pro-active and flexible with strong technical skills. You have experience in the higher education sector. Your other skills and experience may include but are not limited to:
- Providing timely, sound advice on a range of legal and contractual matters.
- Advising on general commercial, regulatory compliance, governance and organisational issues.
- Drafting, negotiating and providing advice on various types of contracts and other documents.
- Supporting with tender and procurement processes.
- Advising on a range of issues which can include:
- Privacy and intellectual property issues.
- Technology and software agreements.
- Property and construction issues.
- Dispute resolution and risk management.
- Strategic initiatives and business transformations.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues within the legal team and with internal clients.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
